The Chick-fil-A restaurant at Fox Mill Center, Gloucester, earned the top Operational Excellence score among the Atlantic Region for the fourth quarter of 2011.

"Earning the top score among the 242 restaurants in the region is no small accomplishment," Mike Hensley, field operations manager for Chick-fil-A’s Atlantic Region, wrote in a Jan. 12 e-mail to the store owner and his staff.

The restaurant’s Operational Excellence score was based on four elements—taste of food, speed of service, attentive and courteous service and cleanliness.

"What makes this measurement so meaningful is that it’s actually awarded to you and your team by your customers as they complete an on-line survey about their experience at your restaurant…the Customer Experience Monitor," Hensley wrote. "I wish you the best as you continue to create remarkable customer experiences in 2012."

Store owner John F. Gordon said the recognition is due to the continued support of residents throughout the Middle Peninsula, to loyal customers and to a dedicated staff.
