For Amber Cooper of Gloucester, opening a restaurant has long been a goal.
She realized that goal when Eggheads Diner opened for business Nov. 30. The restaurant, located at Gloucester Point Shopping Center, is housed in space that has seen several other eating establishments through the years.
Cooper said she previously worked at several restaurants in Hampton and Newport News, with positions including server, bus person and hostess, and enjoyed the interaction with customers.
"I want this to be a place where the customer really can get what he wants," Cooper said. Eggheads is open seven days a week, serving breakfast and lunch. But you can get breakfast and lunch items served during all regular dining hours.
