The Main Street Preservation Trust will hold a free business workshop at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Main Street Event Space near the Gloucester Library.
The workshop is open to all business owners in Gloucester, said Jenny Crittenden, executive director of MSPT, and breakfast will be served. This is the second workshop MSPT has offered as part of an overall initiative of business recruitment and retention during 2011.
This workshop will be conducted by Margie Johnson of Shop Talk, Inc., of Virginia Beach. Crittenden said Johnson is an author, speaker, trainer and consultant who "equips entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills that lead them to higher profitability and performance."
According to Crittenden, Gloucester business owners who attend will be taught how to apply guerilla marketing strategies to their own business as a means to stay more competitive in today’s modern business world.
Also, Crittenden said Johnson will discuss creative marketing ideas, the role of relationship marketing in today’s retail environment, social media, and critiquing your own marketing initiatives and those of your competitors.
