Boatcrafters, a fiberglass and gelcoat repair service for boats, opened in mid-March off Crab Thicket Road, Gloucester.

Owner Noah Beacher Cannon of Mathews leases approximately 2,000 square feet of a 24,000-square-foot building that once housed a seafood processing business, located about a quarter mile off Route 14.

He specializes in fiberglass and gelcoat repair of boats of varied sizes, as well as boat detailing work such as buffing and waxing. He said much of his work comes from "heavy hits," such as boats striking floating logs, but he also does repairs to jet skis and other personal watercraft.

Cannon said he has more than 20 years’ fiberglass experience. He began working on funny cars and now works mostly on cigarette and center console fishing boats.
