Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Inc. recently appointed Albert L. Foster, who has been in funeral service for almost 50 years, as manager of its facility on Main Street, Mathews.
Foster began in his new position on June 30. He has been an assistant at Foster-Faulkner since 1998.
Foster is a licensed embalmer and funeral director, as well as a memorial consultant. He also sells pre-need insurance that will help cover funeral expenses. Foster-Faulkner is affiliated with Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home and Tri-County Vault, both located in Saluda.
The large facility has space for four separate visitations in different rooms at once, Foster said, with its chapel alone seating about 100 people, and side rooms to be used for a larger funeral.
Some families prefer cremation, Foster said, which is a less-expensive alternative to a traditional casket burial. Foster-Faulkner conducts a cremation service, he said, but uses a Gloucester crematory.
