No one spoke against a special exception request to establish a home occupation for gun sales and related services during a public hearing July 23 in the colonial courthouse. By a 6-0 vote, with member C.W. Davis absent, the Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals approved the application.
David W. Harper II, applicant, and Kimberly A. (Conner) Harper, property owner, sought a special exception under Article 14 of the Gloucester Zoning Ordinance. The property, located at 5395 Gum Fork Road, lies in the Abingdon Magisterial District and is zoned Suburban Countryside (SC-1).
The applicant sought the special exception for gunsmithing, sale of hunting and outdoor supplies and accessories, as well as gun sales, a notice said.
