Karen Barrick became the new postmaster at White Marsh Post Office in late June. She replaced Sharon Wood, who retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

"Everyone has been very welcoming," Barrick said of meeting her customers at her new location. White Marsh Post Office is located in White Marsh Shopping Center.

The postal facility has about 1,200 boxes for rent, with some currently available. Barrick said the office does not have any carrier routes but offers passports, international mailing, postal supplies and other mail services. She is assisted by part-time clerk Nikki Foster of Ark.

Barrick has worked for the Postal Service for 12 years. Most recently, she served as officer-in-charge of North Post Office for five years.
