Yorktown refinery sold to Plains All American Pipeline
Western Refinery announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its refinery plant and fuels terminal at Yorktown to Plains All American Pipeline.
The $220 million deal is expected to be completed before the end of the year, Gary Hanson, vice president of corporate communications for Western Refinery, said Dec. 15. Western is based in El Paso, Texas, Hanson said, and concentrates its business in the Southwest. Its main facilities are located in El Paso and in Gallup, New Mexico.
Plains, meanwhile, is based in Houston, Texas. The transaction includes the Yorktown terminal, its refinery that Western idled about a year ago, and an unrelated, 82-mile long pipeline in New Mexico, Hanson said.
