Treasures Antiques & Thrift opened for business in early February on Route 17, Glenns.

John O. Raynor of Glenns, owns the business with his wife, Carol. They operate the business Thursday through Sunday during the winter and plan to open Wednesdays as well this spring.

Raynor said he has collected antiques for many years and some of the items they offer for sale in the shop are from his personal collection. "I love wood," he said of the many pieces of furniture and other items they sell that are made of wood.

Mrs. Raynor said they intend to open a thrift shop in the rear portion of the store early this spring. The antiques are sold from a separate showroom in the front of the store.

They sell an assortment of antiques, vintage items and collectibles in the front of the store, Raynor said. Among items seen on a recent visit were antique furniture, brand-name wicker furniture, old clocks, books, and items as varied as sleds from the 1950s and old product signs.
