Shinault Realty expands Main Street office space

Members of the Shinault family have occupied a storefront on Main Street in Mathews for about 60 years.
James M. "Trey" Shinault III of Redart, said his grandmother, the late Ann Shinault, operated Ann’s Beauty Shop at that location for more than 50 years. After a short lapse, his mother, Sylvia Shinault of Mathews, operated a nutrition and health store there for eight years.
This summer, Shinault Realty, which had operated from the rear of the shop for the past couple of years, took over the entire building. Trey Shinault is principal broker for the realty company, with his father, James M. Shinault, handling investments and construction for the business. The senior Shinault started Shinault Realty in 1973, operating it at several Gloucester and Mathews locations through the years.
