A new management team has been named for the Meineke Car Care Center, located on Route 17, Hayes.

Micah Toups of Hayes has been named store manager, with Jessie Carmichael of Newport News named as assistant store manager.

Both men also serve as automotive technicians in the shop, along with technician Lawrence Brown of York County.

Ray Howell of Williamsburg, who formerly lived in Gloucester, is the franchise owner of the Gloucester store and seven others in Tidewater.

Toups said that Meineke has shifted its focus during the past five years or so from specializing in exhaust work to full-service car care. About the only things the technicians don’t do, he said, are heavy engine and body work.

Services include tires, belts, hoses, fluids, filters and batteries, Toups said. In addition, the staff handles tune-ups, oil and lube, vehicle air conditioning and heating, wheel alignment, shocks and CV joints.
