MetroCast Communications recently completed a major technological upgrade in Mathews County, resulting in greatly expanded bandwidth for the launch of an array of new products and services, according to a release from the service provider.

With a new, state-of-the-art fiber-optic architecture, MetroCast will now provide customers in Mathews County with high speed internet, digital phone, Video On Demand, and high-definition TV.

"We are very excited to be able to provide these service enhancements in Mathews County," said general manager Bill Newborg. "Our goal is to provide the most advanced products available, with first-rate customer service and technical support, at competitive prices."

As a result of the upgrade, MetroCast now offers more than 200 video channels, in addition to 45 digital music channels and access to MetroCast Video On Demand. In addition, MetroCast High Speed Internet is now available with download speeds up to 25 megabits per second, while MetroCast Digital Phone offers unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling in the U.S. and Canada, with 12 popular calling features. The company also offers specially priced VIP (Video-Internet-Phone) bundles, at a reduced rate.
