Mane Street Hair Retreat opens in Gloucester

Mane Street Hair Retreat opened for business in late January. The shop, which is located in a former bank building on Main Street, Gloucester, includes an old vault that the owners hope one day to convert to a boutique.
Mary Nelson of Gloucester, owns the salon with her sister, Janet Nelson of Hampton. Mary is one of three stylists at the shop, which previously housed another beauty salon, while Janet has worked at Newport News Shipbuilding for a number of years.
Mary is joined in the shop by two employees: stylists Darcy Perreault of Gloucester and Ashleigh Walker of Mathews.
All offer full hair care services for men, women and children. In addition, Perreault and Walker offer facial waxing. Perreault offers cuts and color, specializing in razor cuts. Walker handles all types of cuts and color as does Nelson.
