Main Street farmers’ market concludes with a successful season

This summer’s Gloucester Main Street Association Farmers’ Market turned out pretty well, executive director Jen Christman said, but extreme heat and a new location hurt the event somewhat.
Christman said the weather proved a minor inconvenience, as light rain fell on a couple Wednesday evenings while the market was underway in the parking lot adjacent to the Gloucester Active Lifestyle Center. The weekly markets ended for the season on Aug. 29.
Eight or nine vendors participated most weeks, offering for sale a variety of produce, fresh meats including bison, salsa, honey, and other goods. She said most vendors were pleased with sales at the market.
