A high-end consignment shop has opened in Ordinary. Gloucester resident Stacie Willett opened the business in the space that formerly housed Lisburne Lane Antiques next to 17 Plaza Shopping Center in early December. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

It has been a lifelong dream of hers to run a shop similar to this one, Willett said. Growing up in a family-run design business, she said she has always felt drawn to do something related to interior design.

Though she has worked full-time at a surgical dental practice in Williamsburg since 1989, she said she has always done some part-time work in design. The dental practice, she said, gave her years of experience in business administration and marketing.

Willett admitted she was a little scared at first opening the business in what many consider tough economic times. However, she said the business has been successful during its first few months and she remains optimistic, noting that the consignment business is a pretty "recession-proof" operation.

The name Stacie’s Second Chance is two-fold, Willett said. Not only does the consignment shop provide a second chance for the furniture that comes to the shop, but Willett said it’s also "a second chance for my dream. It’s my dream come true and I can finally do what I love to do."

"I literally call this a leap of faith," she said. "It’s been a faith walk every day. I have to rely on the Lord and the grace He has given me. It’s such a blessing for me."
