Gloucester center joins Fitness 1440

There have been a number of changes at the former Natural Balance Fitness Center in Walter Reed Plaza, Gloucester, this year and more are on the way.
Atha "Terry" White of Gloucester opened Natural Balance, a place to exercise on a 24/7 basis, in June 2009. She and her son, Jerry Bridges of Gloucester, operated independently until this January when they became a franchise of Pennsylvania-based Fitness 1440. White said this is an opportunity to provide local members a chance to exercise with reciprocal privileges at many other Fitness 1440 centers as close as Fredericksburg and the Norfolk area, and at those in a number of other states.
Fitness 1440 offers a full range of exercise equipment, White said, including elliptical machines, treadmills and other machines, as well as a large assortment of free weights. In addition, White said there are three lifestyle coaches at the center.
