Elite Construction now a Class A contractor
There have been a lot of changes recently at Elite Construction at Ordinary.
Brad Perkins, who owns Elite, said his company recently received a Class A contractor’s license, after he successfully passed a test by the Virginia Board of Contractors. That means Elite, which is located in the complex on Route 17 at Ordinary that also houses Owens Mobile Homes and Three Guys Auto, now has no monetary limit on the value of residential and commercial construction it can handle. Previously, Elite held a Class B contractor license, which Perkins said had a maximum of $750,000 project value assigned to it.
Perkins said he recently promoted John Slavnic of Gloucester as lead foreman. Slavnic has worked at Elite for six years.
Elite Construction employs approximately 15 people. Perkins said he often has several crews working in the field at once. Recently, he and some of his helpers donated tarps and secured roofs at four residences damaged by the April 16 tornado in Gloucester.
