Dollar General opens Hartfield store
Dollar General opened a store June 29 on General Puller Highway in Hartfield.
Manager Paula B. Hall of Urbanna said a grand opening was held July 12, which included gift cards and goodie bags for many shoppers.
Hall said the store is larger than other Dollar Generals in this region. The Hartfield store, at approximately 7,100 square feet, is the new prototype for the chain, she said, and provides more room to display its products.
Dollar General is “like a mini-Walmart,” Hall said, since it stocks groceries, processed meats, automotive supplies, lawn and garden equipment, cleansers, hair care and beauty products, toys, snack foods, magazines and many other items. About the only items Dollar General doesn’t stock are fresh meats and produce, Hall said.
