Consulting firm at Gloucester Point expands to full-time operation

Bill Nachman | Posted on Dec 29, 2010 - 02:32 PM Printer Friendly View

Paula Jasinski, president of Chesapeake Environmental Communications, said she began running her business full-time after leaving a position with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, based at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science at Gloucester Point, in August. She started CEC in 2007, operating it on a part-time basis until recently.

Her husband, Dave, is vice president of the company. She runs CEC full-time, while her husband works in the business part-time.

The Jasinskis specialize in developing ecological condition analysis and displays, marine spatial planning, climate change adaptation planning and strategies, and resource management plans. In addition, they offer customized databases and data analysis, spatial analysis, strategic action plans that incorporate emerging issues, and environmental communication materials.

She said they provide consulting services to select clients like National Geographic, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, VIMS, NOAA, and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. Also, they can provide consulting services to localities, offering insight on water quality and other environmental issues.
