The Tiny Crab, a children’s clothing shop, opened for business Aug. 18 on Main Street, Mathews, adjacent to Hudgins Pharmacy. A grand opening, with refreshments and drawing for a gift certificate, will be held during Mathews Market Days from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The store, which most recently housed Real Goods, is filled with a large assortment of gently used children’s clothing, including pants, shirts and suits. In addition, there are plenty of shoes, accessories, toys, towels and other items.

Owner Carla Faulkner said some of the items have never been worn and still have the original tags on them. She buys clothing, shoes and accessories and then sells them at her shop.

In addition to items for the little ones, the Tiny Crab has a selection of clothing and accessories for teenagers.

Faulkner said she can personalize clothing and other items for customers, with embroidery, monograms and appliqué.
