Chamber’s Mardi Gras Ball this Saturday
The Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Mardi Gras Ball and Awards Reception Saturday at the Abingdon Ruritan Club on Guinea Road, Bena.
The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 o’clock, followed by a New Orleans style dinner prepared by chefs Keyvan Behnam (Lulu Bird’s Kitchen), Juan Carrillo (Juan’s Mexican Café and Cantina), Beau Felder (Gumbeau’s), and Crystal Burton (Sweet Tooth Café and Bakery), music and dancing to the band Good Shot Judy, recognition of 2016 accomplishments and 2017 goals, and presentation of the chamber’s Business Awards.
“This was an excellent year for local businesses, and the Chamber, and we are proud to be a part of it all,” said chamber president Aaron Candella, The awards program has been “very rewarding,” Candella said, as it presented an opportunity for the community at-large to reach out and nominate deserving businesses in five categories: Small Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Best New Business (1-3 years in operation), Professional of the Year, and the Love Gloucester Award (recognizing a business which exemplifies what it means to live and do business in Gloucester).
Tickets are $45 per person or $500 for a reserved table of eight. There will be a cash bar. For tickets and more information about this black tie optional event, go to http://www.gloucestervachamber.org or call 804-693-2425.
