Assistant manager named at Gloucester ABC store

Joyce M. Bishop has been named assistant manager of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control store on Main Street, Gloucester Court House.
Bishop has worked a little over four years for ABC. Most recently, she was manager of the Bottoms Bridge store in New Kent County. Bishop said she sought the transfer to the Gloucester store for family reasons.
She began her career as a sales associate with ABC at the New Kent store, then later worked as lead sales associate at stores in West Point and Urbanna, before being transferred back to the Bottoms Bridge store as assistant manager.
Bishop said she enjoys the people contact that a job like hers has. She said there is a distinct difference between Gloucester and New Kent tastes, with the Gloucester store selling lots of vodka and the Bottoms Bridge store selling plenty of bourbon.
