3 Guys Auto Sales announces recent changes
3 Guys Auto Sales, located on Route 17, Ordinary, has made several changes in recent months, owner Bud Merritt said.
Merritt said his wife, Roxie, is now co-owner of the business. She also serves as its office manager.
Roxie Merritt previously worked seven years for a U.S. Navy contractor in Norfolk and Newport News. Also, she worked as a medical assistant in Rhode Island, where she is originally from.
Another change came last fall, Merritt said, when he became the lone dealer in this region for Old Hickory Buildings. The factory-built sheds come in an assortment of sizes, from 8’x8’ to 14’x40’, and are made of salt-treated siding and flooring in the Prospect, Va., plant. That company delivers and sets up each unit at the customer’s location.
Merritt said he will have about 20 different types and sizes of sheds on his lot at a time. These can be purchased outright, he said, or customers can custom order sheds with garage, porch or playhouse inserts like shelves, windows and work benches.
Sheds can also be acquired through a rent-to-own plan, he said.
Merritt said the sheds help bring new customers to his lot. His auto business features used cars, many about 10 years old in the more affordable $4,000-$9,000 price range. He offers in-house financing, power train service contracts, and mechanical warranties.
